Om Francisco de Goya
Goyas bildspråk spänner från ljusa rokokoscener och ståtliga hovporträtt till allt mörkare motiv. Efter en svår sjukdom 1793, som gjorde honom döv, blev tonen bistrare. Grafiken skildrar krigets våld, vansinne, häxeri, fantastiska varelser och religiös och politisk korruption. Linjerna är kraftfulla, skuggorna djupa och stämningen dyster, medan porträtten hålls sakliga och precisa.
I butiken finns 285 verk av Goya, efter hans etsningar och grafiska blad från 1816–1864. Bland dem märks La desgraciada muerte de Pepe Illo en la plaza de Madrid, Disparate claro och Les exhortations. De tydliga motiven och de hårda kontrasterna gör sig väl på en vägg i ett modernt hem.
